Keeping up with current wedding trends is not for the faint of heart. There are constantly new ideas that are popping up on Pinterest, for example. Don’t believe me, go take a scroll for yourself. I’ll wait… Now that you’re back, see what I mean? There are a LOT of ideas out there. Spoiler alert: This is not going to change. People are constantly looking for ways to execute the traditional aspects of a wedding in a different manner. There will always be new creative perspectives, it’s just the facts. One thing to always keep in the back of your mind is your own personal sense of style. After all, you want the day to be a reflection of your taste, not someone else’s. You might decide to prioritize your dress over everything else. Maybe you’re primarily focused on having the very best fresh florals that money can buy. Might be the only detail your partner cares about is what food is being served; “Pizza, pleaseee!” Whatever the case may be, this is your reminder to make the day how YOU TWO want it. It is your day, therefore your prerogative. It is easy to get caught up in trying to keep up with the current cultural norms and lose sight of what really matters at the end of it all.. Doing something for the sake of it being popular at the moment may lead to regrets later on. Spending money on minute details may unnecessarily take away from the overall wedding budget. Ten years from now, are you really going to care whether your guests each got a small favor to take and eventually (if not immediately) throw away? Chances are the only person loosing sleep over not sending everyone home with a succulent will be you, just saying.. That being said, the day is about you and your partner. Pleasing everyone else present is next to impossible, so why even try? Friendly reminder that everyone invited is present to witness the two of you becoming one unit. At the end of the day, it’s not really about whether or not the bride had two wedding dresses or if they had late night food served by a fan-favorite food truck. It is about two people declaring their love for one another in the presence of their friends and family. When the Vox Theatre originally opened, it was called the Rosedale. Back in 1922, it was a silent movie house with over 750 seats that would regularly sell out. With the implementation of the "talkies" the owner decided to change the name to the Vox Theatre; Vox meaning "voice" in Latin. All to say, that here at the Vox we encourage you to express your voice! We love getting to see how couples transform our event space according to their own unique wedding styles. Each love story is different and witnessing all of the special details that personalize every wedding is so sacred to all of us here at the Vox. Since we design, set, and strike a custom floor plan for every event here, no room lay-out will be the same. With the natural ambiance of the theatre, we’ve seen both elaborate decorations as well as minimalistic. No matter which direction you choose to go, it works in this beautiful space. We love giving you the tools to showcase your personal style and getting the opportunity to be a part of bringing your special moments to life. Features like our customizable GOBOs immediately sets the tone as soon as your guests enter the venue. In case you're new here, this is an exclusive inclusion gifted to you and yours from the Vox when you book within two weeks from your first tour of the venue. Choose from a library of templates or create your very own; The options are truly endless. From favorite quotes, to the couples' beloved corgis, you name it we have had it cut out in metal and projected at no extra charge. We’ve seen couples take them and afterwards project them onto drive-ways, use for future anniversary parties, or even drill a hold through the top and create a keepsake ornament. Again, to each their own; That is how we prefer it around here ;) Few examples of some past couple’s preferences: We strive to make each couple's day as memorable as possible and bringing all of their grand ideas to fruition. Know that while we love seeing all of the current trends, always remember that the most important thing is the forever partnership that is being formed. We want you to be able to look back fondly knowing you choose the right venue that always kept your personal style at the forefront. Your guests will be reminded of why they made the journey the moment they step foot into our venue; That we make sure of! Remarkable events happen here; We cannot wait to host yours.
Cheers to all of the significant memories made at the Vox Theatre over the years and to all of those that are still to come!
